Chicago is home to thousands of well behaved pups ready to join in on the fun. However, laws restricting where dogs can and cannot go can make it difficult to find a place to go with the whole family. In Chicago, bars and restaurants that serve food are not allowed to have dogs in their dining room. If you're visiting a venue with food, your best bet is a seasonal outdoor patio. Venues that do not prepare food on site may allow pets in and outside, and commonly will also let your bring your own food or order in from local restaurants. Aside from food code restrictions, each establishment determines their own policy and has the right to refuse any pup. We've attempted to create the most comprehensive dog friendly list of bars, restaurants and coffee shops in Chicago - please let us know if we've missed any!
