Where to Play Ping Pong and Beer Pong in Chicago

Ping Pong, aka table tennis, is technically an Olympic sport, but you're more likely to practice in a bar or arcade in Chicago if you want to pair your Pong with a beverage (unless you're training for Chicago's professional table tennis league). Happy Village has a year round indoor Ping Pong hall, as well as seasonal winter leagues on Sundays and Tuesdays. Southport Lanes hosts a Ping Pong league through Chicago Sport and Social on Monday nights.

Susan Sarandon's Spin Ping Pong bar and social club recently opened in Chicago's River North and is a high end club with tables, memberships, lessons and VIP lounges.

For a more casual environment, go for a game of ping pong or practice your putts at 3 Greens Market nearby:

If you're looking for a casual game of Pong as a side to a great meal and expertly crafted cocktail, head to Ada Street's seasonal patio:

While you play, admire the mural painted by local artists and drink for a cause - Ada donates $1 of each cocktail to support causes such as The League of Chicago Theatres.

For a private event, you can rent out an entire Ping Pong venue like Spin, or try the Killerspin House:

Killerspin House has several tables, TVs, and audio/visual equipment to host a professional event or private party. The club also offers unlimited open play with the purchase of a paddle, or memberships from $1200 up. Get private lessons, compete in tournaments, and work on your form with their Throw Robot.

Ping Pong and office kegs are the foundation of high tech/startup offices, which is why there is naturally a Chicago Code Pong meetup group. The BYOB Pong group meets the fourth Friday of every month at Killerspin.

Parsons Chicken and Fish in Logan Square is built for fun, especially when the weather is nice. Grab a paddle and a negroni slushi and get your game on.

Perhaps more of a college pastime, Beer Pong has its place in the Chicago bar scene despite the questionable germ issues involved with that dirty, dirty Ping Pong ball.

It may be possible to play Ping Pong at Beer and Beach, but no one's ever seen it. Beer Pong is the main attraction at this lively Wrigleyville bar, second to one man band Piano Bob. Similar to Beer and Beach, Will's Northwoods Inn in Lakeview is a great place for Packers fans to play Beer Pong, though their table represents the Wisconsin Badgers:

Sully's House in New City is a popular spot for post-game flip cup and beer pong by Chicago kickball teams.

If you're an early bird, you can grab a Military Latte or Matcha at Sawada and play ping pong on their wooden table:

Breweries may seem like an ideal location for beer pong, but the ping pong competition can get pretty intense...at Motor Row Brewing, for example:
