Free/Low Cost Live Music in Chicago
Jazz clubs, concert halls, festivals, coffee shops are all venues for a good bevv and live music. Chicago is known for its blues and jazz clubs and lively outdoor music festivals, but there are even more options for live music in your local bar or coffee shop that are either free or under $20. Support local artists, find a new vibe, or listen to an album release with a good drink in hand.
If you're looking to explore jazz talent, the Fulton Street Collective hosts a bi-weekly Jazz Art Collective event with live jazz, art and drinks. Performances are curated by Chris Anderson, house manager of The Green Mill, with help from Joe Lanasa, director of FSC.

Fado Irish Pub in River North has live music Friday and Saturday nights to prepare you for their early morning European futbol coverage.
The General in Logan Square hosts a weekly bluegrass brunch. Enjoy a smoked bloody mary or craft beer from a little glass boot. Thursday is cowboy jukebox night, and you can bring in your own vinyl records to play.
Monty Gaels has live music Friday nights at 9pm, accompanied by their all you can eat fish fry.
Merkle's in Wrigleyville has live music performances on Friday and Saturday nights.
